IMI/OSU Masonry Design Competition (2010)

Proposal for a hypothetical small classroom pavilion for the Ohio State University’s School of Earth Sciences. With a focus on the earth, geologic sciences, and global environmental change, I proposed a design which directly relates to Planet Earth. The rainscreen coloration and distribution refers to the distribution of land to water on the planet’s surface. The Earth rotates on an axis which is tilted 23.5 degrees. This is represented through the plan of the building which pivots to create a balcony. Picked as one of the top 8 designs in the competition. (G1 year)
