Spatial Enveloping, “Shotgun Shack” (2009)

A further exploration of the methods explored in the Spatial Enveloping furniture project; this time expanded to the scale of small house. Rather than building a void and filling it with furniture, in this “shotgun shack” the walls become a single surface to provide seating and circulation. By using the snapshot technique, in which an animation creates the design, a chair, table, lounge, bed, stair, ramp, wall, shelf, and window louvers are created. The shotgun shack became a module in a larger group of similar projects to form a complex of collective houses. (G1 year)
